This vanilla extract is double strength, so you only use half as much.  Shipping vanilla extract is expensive, so in effect you save on shipping (you get the equivalent of 2 gallons of extract and only pay shipping on one gallon). We get our vanilla from a commercial producer of vanilla extract.  The extract is produced in the United States.  Our supplier of vanilla extract is certified Kosher, but we aren't and since we relabel it we cannot put the Kosher symbol on it.  This is one fold vanilla extract, which is about 60% stronger than vanilla extract that you would get in the supermarket. This is real vanilla extract.  By U.S. law, vanilla extract must contain 35% alcohol.  The Mexican vanilla extracts that you may find for amazingly low prices are not pure vanilla extract.  If it is clear (or not a deep brown), you can be sure that it is not pure vanilla extract made from vanilla beans, but made with artificial vanilla flavor. Properly stored, vanilla extract can last up to five years.  Keep the lid on tight, store in a dark place at room temperature. Vanilla extract must go by ground shipment because it is flammable.  Per USPS regulations, only one container of extract can be contained per box, so combined shipping for multiple bottles of vanilla extract is not available for USPS shipping (a shipping discount is available if you order a combination of one bottle of vanilla extract and vanilla beans).  Please contact us for shipping rates via other carriers if you are interested in purchasing a larger quantity of bottles of vanilla extract.
